My God, you are good.

I enjoyed that so much - and laughed so loud - it made me feel guilty to do it.

Some of the best writing I'm seeing in any quarter these days.

<standing ovation>

Please keep rockin' it.

I laughed so I subscribed 😔 nah I’ve been subscribed but heavy on negroliberal! When BLM organization donated all that money we collected to the Democratic Party instead of MATERIALLY HELPING OUT THE COMMUNITY I knew we had a problem that needed to be addressed. And I’d like to add on the Black Capitalist (which arguably might be the same thing) onto this discussion! I don’t know if you’ve seen BP2025 (Black Project 2025) but the way that instantly derailed from it being a project to uplift black people to its own little capitalist stock market get rich quick venture was insanely quick. When TT shutdown I joined the discord to observe and see if this was a project I could assist and the first thing I see when I got in was a CRYPTO COIN ANNOUNCEMENT. Lord….got out of there FAST. We have to start having some discussions without trying to throw the racism card down to avoid accountability STAT and remember/ reform what we want to be our community values pronto

The ruling class only allowed Obama to be president because he's half white. Clarence Thomas totally internalized white supremacist ideology as did many others Black "celebrities." Seeing Black people promoting sports betting apps sickens me.

And what's worse is that these celebrities and politicians are using their Blackness as a commodity which makes the rest of the wider (whiter) population think it's okay for Black people to be consumed. If we are not for consumption then what are we for? It's so backwards and sick. Everybody's being groomed to want slaves including Black people.

I don't see how they don't see how it's a double edged sword. Even Obama and Beyonce will be discarded when they're not able to be used anymore — despite all their contributions to the capitalist project even they aren't safe. So what does that mean for the rest of us? It means we need to return to our roots instead of consuming the aesthetics of them. We're gonna need each other now more than ever

Hilariously, I’ve seen white folks quote black folks directly (namely MalcomX or Angela Davis) and been told that since they are white it doesn’t matter if they read the books, they don’t understand. And I get that, you can only understand so much a situation you have never experienced. But if reading and listening to and quoting black folks still gets you criticized on the basis of being white how many white folks will speak?

I know a lot of black and brown people want us to speak less and that’s a valid stance given how much performative bullshit comes out of white mouths. But I worry that the white folks who do want to listen and learn from black & brown thinkers and their experiences ultimately are driven off, shunted into silence when trying to engage in discourse with relevant folks and ultimately conditioned into silence as a whole. How many conditioned into silence won’t speak up among other white people as a result?

Sorry that got way off topic and my intention was not about how to make this about white people. My point is ultimately, quoting black folks doesn’t get white people very far either when talking to white folks who don’t respect black folks or when talking to a lot of black folks (though I’d hazard to say especially when talking to black liberals of the variety you are speaking of).

baby this is a WORD. its exactly why i'm offering grow with grace sessions targeted toward white folks who actually are interested in learning/decolonizing/organizing bc it will take all of us to free all of us. black folks have been reduced to their identities for so long that they're now weaponizing it as a way to protect themselves from uncomfortable conversations and its SADDDD, free my siblings!!!!!

Adding negroliberal to Our lexicon expeditiously. They using blackness as proximity to revolution but, proximity to revolution does not make you revolutionary and being black does not make you revolutionary.

That it is. I'm not really sure because it's painfully obvious to me that they're just being used. Like Harlan Crow would give Clarence Thomas the time of day if he wasn't a SCOTUS justice. How does the man look at himself in the mirror?
